Working at Taka……

September 28th, 2005

Today is the 4th day working at Taka doing Promo for Pearline. We are located just below the escalator at B2. Its pretty tiring cos I gotta stand for 9 hours a day. However, the satisfying part is the many happy customers that we have created. I also bumped into Magdalene from 24 Pieties the other day as well as another Sec schoolmate Lanny today. Wonder how many more friends I will bump into from tomorrow till next Wed when the promo is over…. :p

There are all sorts of customers we met! Really nice ones and rich ones, lots of foreigners, naggy ones, longwinded ones, like-to-complain type, ask-alot ones, bargain hunters and many more. Thus it will sure sharpen anyone’s skill in communications.

Down with cough now, think its being in air-con environment for too long and lots of talking from doing sales. Bought myself a bottle of Manuka Honey UMF10+ from Pearline to cure it as well as for Kheeliang to maintain his voice. From the promo, I realise how good Active UMF Manuka Honey is! There are customers that have been taking for 2 years and she never suffer from cough since then.

Just in case any of you wanna find out more, this honey is best to be taken early in the morning on empty stomach. One teaspoon a day for regular maintenance. The bigger the UMF no. the stronger the "curing" effects. Never use metal spoon and hot water to consume it. And never take more than 3 teaspoon a day. Its good for sore throat, cold, cough, gastric, ulcers (month and stomach) as well as for pimples. Just apply sparingly and wash away about 15 - 20 mins later. If you wanna buy any honey, lemme know cos I can get better price for you!

Well, another thinkg I am doing is busy helping Kheeliang improve in his singing… The process of choosing the song is real tedious! Afterwhich, will need to look for the suitable dressing style for him too. Not forgeting the staging and blocking etc… With many of us putting in effort to help him, I believe he will have pretty good chance in getting into the finals. All keeping our fingers crossed! BTW, his Semi-finals is on the 7th Oct 2005. It will be held at PartyWorld Shenton Way. Entrance fee is $7 per head including 1 drink. Starting at 730pm but gotta go early to ensure having good deats. Our regular seats there is Table 7.

Starting to nod off while typing liao… Sleepy. So gonna sign off now and come back again another day! Take care all and sleep tight!

Updates updates!!!!

Wow… after so many early mornings travelling to CCK, the "marking" and "burning" of the CDs for the students projects for the E-broadcast program had come to an end. Thats great. however, it definitely exhausted my physical body.

Its extremely exhausting cos nearly every night, I went to listen to the oMemberleether contestants of the "Be A Star 2005" singing compeititon and learning from them. There are so many things to learn from the comments given by the judges. Especially from teacher Li Yi. He is a famous music producer and he gives really good comments! I learnt a lot from him through the nights being there.

As for the results, well, I did not made it through to the semi-finals. In fact among the 4 of us that took part (Xiayun, Annie, Kheeliang and me), only Kheeliang made it through to the semi-finals. One good thing was those that got to the quarterfinals, we are also winners. Cos among the 700 plus contestants, only 200 plus were selected to enter the quarter finals.

Now we are all looking forward to help Kheeliang get thru to the finPhpmc7kcjals. Its rather tough… cos this round, only 12 from the 80 plus semifinalists will be selected into the finals. And this round we will have teacher "Fang ZhongHua" to be one of the judge. Kinda challenging expecially when Kheeliang is so skinny… "Fang" likes to comments on appearance too! ("Fang" is a judge for the Project Superstar event.)

Well, hope all goes well. As long as Kheeliang did his best. Its a great experience. And we made lots of new friends too. Especially the Host of the event, Garrison. He is such a great host and real funny. Anyone needing a host for any events, I strongly recommend him! Lemme know and I’ll contact him! :p

Thats all for now…till next time, take care!

Post “Teacher’s Day”

September 3rd, 2005

Phew!!! Finally can sit in front of my PC and enter my blog…. life’s like a battle for the past weeks as all my training programme come to an end. Especially yesterday morning when I had my last Video Editing classes. The 2 classes had so much video problem and 1 group turned out that they did not record anything for their final shooting day! All their outfoor shoots are missing and they only have their Voice Over shoots. It was really fighting battle cos we only have about 1.5 hours for the students to learn Pinnacle Studio 9 and edit their news clips at the same time. Plus, their only Pri 5 students. SO Kheeliang had to bring one the group out for last minute shoot while I stayed in the lab and helped the students (36 of them) with their problems. @_@

Anyway, after class, my manager Rosalind brought us both out for lunch and it was really great! That helps to make us relaxed a lot more and become less stressed. After which, we went on to discuss about next Year training topics for South View Pri Sch. Apparently, they have some BIG plans ahead that involves drama, music composing, film production and many more. And apparently, I would likely be to be the resident trainer there throughout the year. Hmm…. Good or bad???? Dun know….

On Wed and Fri, I received cards and presents for Teacher’s Day and that felt good. It allows me to know that I have in the course of my work, students had learn a lot more in their life. @.@ So now, have the cards on my wall and the present used to hold my handphones.

Reaching home yesterday, I brought Bryan out for some fun and he ended up irritating me a few times. Kinda  cos I am really too tired, I dun have energy to scold him already. Sign…. Anyway, the nite didnt end well cos Bryan pulled another "Terrible Tantrum" at me just before bed time. Gave him a good scolding. Sign…  Afterwhich we made up and finally went to sleep peacefully.

Waked up this morning and brought Bryan out for breakfast at the Famous CMC. Then bought the famous Kim Choo "Bak Zhang" to keep for lunch later. Sat down and started reading Edric’s blog. Great to know he is fine and well. That he is receiving more and more acting assigments and contract. Thats good.

WEll, as I type, I am getting sleepy again.. think I have physically "stressed" out my body, that’s why I feel tired and sleepy easily. Plus the many late nights and early morning…. Talking about htat, I will have to go back to the school  a few more times during the school holidays to mark students work, burnt them into CDs. Thas like hundreds of pieces of work to settle…. :(
Though some of the work are not directly my job scope, I still prefer to complete them on my own properly, my style…. Well, going to "Oink" now and become a "Pa Di" Butan….
