“Dramatically Exciting”

October 7th, 2005

Hi, I am back!

Finally, the big day for Kheeliang’s singing competition is over! Somehow, my past week had been "dramatically exciting"!!! Well, in the mist of preparing for Kheeliang’s Semi-finals, a few incidents occured, both good and bad.

First of all, I received good news that my HDB flat had been sold! Thats mean I will be expecting some profits back to ease me of my financial situation! And Bryan will be moving back to stay with his Dad from November onwards. Sure will miss Bryan lots. But guess this change might be good for all of us too!

Following that, while riding home on my bicycle chauferring my friend behind me, my bicyle skidded and my back wheel spoilt. Thus, gotta send my bicycle for repair and getting it fixed. $$$ invested.

Next, I went for a work meeting but found out that there are some changes that I feel wasnt fair thus I am reconsidering the offer. (Well, not convenient to expose the details here lah.)

Following that, I went to Kheeliang’s Semi-finals and found that the finalist selections was pretty "weird" & "questionable"! Anyway, its still thanks for many that had helped and supported Kheeliang but well, he didnt made it through to the finals. However, he got really loud applause for his performance as it was indeed very entertaining! He could have done better but he was really nervous. Hehe… but he gave it his best shot! So I am still proud of him!

Lastly, after the competition is over and we left, I found that I have lost my precious Mitsubishi M350 handphone…. with all my contacts and photos taken!! The special moments that I had capture in my phone all gone… kinda sad and still hoping that the "founder" could be kind enough to return it to me since its a "cheapo" phone or at least return the sim card. Still putting out this thought very strongly!!! Though I have recovered from the saddness today, I am still hoping!!! And taking all the possiblity to retrieve my contacts base through email.

The trouble is that my no. is a prepaid no. and so I cannot replace a sim card with the same no. Thus my mobile no. 9102 3007 cannot be used again! Pls take note!!! This is kinda tricky… Anyway, it must have happened for a good reason. So if you do know me personally and will need my new no. pls send me an email!!

Phew…. well, its all out! Feels better now! That’s all for now!

Working at Taka……

September 28th, 2005

Today is the 4th day working at Taka doing Promo for Pearline. We are located just below the escalator at B2. Its pretty tiring cos I gotta stand for 9 hours a day. However, the satisfying part is the many happy customers that we have created. I also bumped into Magdalene from 24 Pieties the other day as well as another Sec schoolmate Lanny today. Wonder how many more friends I will bump into from tomorrow till next Wed when the promo is over…. :p

There are all sorts of customers we met! Really nice ones and rich ones, lots of foreigners, naggy ones, longwinded ones, like-to-complain type, ask-alot ones, bargain hunters and many more. Thus it will sure sharpen anyone’s skill in communications.

Down with cough now, think its being in air-con environment for too long and lots of talking from doing sales. Bought myself a bottle of Manuka Honey UMF10+ from Pearline to cure it as well as for Kheeliang to maintain his voice. From the promo, I realise how good Active UMF Manuka Honey is! There are customers that have been taking for 2 years and she never suffer from cough since then.

Just in case any of you wanna find out more, this honey is best to be taken early in the morning on empty stomach. One teaspoon a day for regular maintenance. The bigger the UMF no. the stronger the "curing" effects. Never use metal spoon and hot water to consume it. And never take more than 3 teaspoon a day. Its good for sore throat, cold, cough, gastric, ulcers (month and stomach) as well as for pimples. Just apply sparingly and wash away about 15 - 20 mins later. If you wanna buy any honey, lemme know cos I can get better price for you!

Well, another thinkg I am doing is busy helping Kheeliang improve in his singing… The process of choosing the song is real tedious! Afterwhich, will need to look for the suitable dressing style for him too. Not forgeting the staging and blocking etc… With many of us putting in effort to help him, I believe he will have pretty good chance in getting into the finals. All keeping our fingers crossed! BTW, his Semi-finals is on the 7th Oct 2005. It will be held at PartyWorld Shenton Way. Entrance fee is $7 per head including 1 drink. Starting at 730pm but gotta go early to ensure having good deats. Our regular seats there is Table 7.

Starting to nod off while typing liao… Sleepy. So gonna sign off now and come back again another day! Take care all and sleep tight!

Updates updates!!!!

September 23rd, 2005

Wow… after so many early mornings travelling to CCK, the "marking" and "burning" of the CDs for the students projects for the E-broadcast program had come to an end. Thats great. however, it definitely exhausted my physical body.

Its extremely exhausting cos nearly every night, I went to listen to the oMemberleether contestants of the "Be A Star 2005" singing compeititon and learning from them. There are so many things to learn from the comments given by the judges. Especially from teacher Li Yi. He is a famous music producer and he gives really good comments! I learnt a lot from him through the nights being there.

As for the results, well, I did not made it through to the semi-finals. In fact among the 4 of us that took part (Xiayun, Annie, Kheeliang and me), only Kheeliang made it through to the semi-finals. One good thing was those that got to the quarterfinals, we are also winners. Cos among the 700 plus contestants, only 200 plus were selected to enter the quarter finals.

Now we are all looking forward to help Kheeliang get thru to the finPhpmc7kcjals. Its rather tough… cos this round, only 12 from the 80 plus semifinalists will be selected into the finals. And this round we will have teacher "Fang ZhongHua" to be one of the judge. Kinda challenging expecially when Kheeliang is so skinny… "Fang" likes to comments on appearance too! ("Fang" is a judge for the Project Superstar event.)

Well, hope all goes well. As long as Kheeliang did his best. Its a great experience. And we made lots of new friends too. Especially the Host of the event, Garrison. He is such a great host and real funny. Anyone needing a host for any events, I strongly recommend him! Lemme know and I’ll contact him! :p

Thats all for now…till next time, take care!

Post “Teacher’s Day”

September 3rd, 2005

Phew!!! Finally can sit in front of my PC and enter my blog…. life’s like a battle for the past weeks as all my training programme come to an end. Especially yesterday morning when I had my last Video Editing classes. The 2 classes had so much video problem and 1 group turned out that they did not record anything for their final shooting day! All their outfoor shoots are missing and they only have their Voice Over shoots. It was really fighting battle cos we only have about 1.5 hours for the students to learn Pinnacle Studio 9 and edit their news clips at the same time. Plus, their only Pri 5 students. SO Kheeliang had to bring one the group out for last minute shoot while I stayed in the lab and helped the students (36 of them) with their problems. @_@

Anyway, after class, my manager Rosalind brought us both out for lunch and it was really great! That helps to make us relaxed a lot more and become less stressed. After which, we went on to discuss about next Year training topics for South View Pri Sch. Apparently, they have some BIG plans ahead that involves drama, music composing, film production and many more. And apparently, I would likely be to be the resident trainer there throughout the year. Hmm…. Good or bad???? Dun know….

On Wed and Fri, I received cards and presents for Teacher’s Day and that felt good. It allows me to know that I have in the course of my work, students had learn a lot more in their life. @.@ So now, have the cards on my wall and the present used to hold my handphones.

Reaching home yesterday, I brought Bryan out for some fun and he ended up irritating me a few times. Kinda  cos I am really too tired, I dun have energy to scold him already. Sign…. Anyway, the nite didnt end well cos Bryan pulled another "Terrible Tantrum" at me just before bed time. Gave him a good scolding. Sign…  Afterwhich we made up and finally went to sleep peacefully.

Waked up this morning and brought Bryan out for breakfast at the Famous CMC. Then bought the famous Kim Choo "Bak Zhang" to keep for lunch later. Sat down and started reading Edric’s blog. Great to know he is fine and well. That he is receiving more and more acting assigments and contract. Thats good.

WEll, as I type, I am getting sleepy again.. think I have physically "stressed" out my body, that’s why I feel tired and sleepy easily. Plus the many late nights and early morning…. Talking about htat, I will have to go back to the school  a few more times during the school holidays to mark students work, burnt them into CDs. Thas like hundreds of pieces of work to settle…. :(
Though some of the work are not directly my job scope, I still prefer to complete them on my own properly, my style…. Well, going to "Oink" now and become a "Pa Di" Butan….

Congratulations!

August 25th, 2005

Hee.. today is the day of the preliminary round of the singing competition "Be a Star 2005" organized by PartyWorld KTVs. I wasnt nervous at all before my turn. Somehow, after I enter the room (Its closed door judging), I started to feel nervous. Haha… honestly, my voice wasn’t very stable and actually sang 2 words wrongly… sign.. immediately tot I’m eliminated when the judges ring the bell for me to stop. Then they teased me a little about how I felt of my own singing etc… Haha… and finally, they say I am through to the next round! Yeah!!!!

My "Congratulations pass"!

Next round is much much stricter and have quota to qualify. Unlike this round, there is no quota, as long as the person can sing and have potential, they will let the person through. Phew… Thats why there are many ppl for the quarter finals. My next round is on the 14th Sept 2005, 7:30pm and it will be held at the Shenton Way Party World KTV. Really worried about this round whether I can make it thru. Anyway, its really fun and a good experience to be taking part in singing competition for the first time. So whatever the result it, I am happy that I have experience it. Oh, Kheeliang, Xiayun and Annie all got thru to the wuarter finals too!

Well, gotta go liao! Kinda late and tired! Blog again another day!

Been…..

August 9th, 2005

Today is National Day! Enjoyed myself watching the NDP on TV and see bits of the fireworks from my kitchen. Hmm… was chatting with Edric online just now cos he had no activities on today too. I stayed at home whole of today other then the time I went out to eat. Candice too… she stayed at home and she cooked dinner for me today! It was really good. We had simple "homely" fun.

Well, received some smses from Deneon and know that she is well and as busy as usual. Really miss meeting up with her and chatting away about everything under the sun. :) Kenneth is doing fine in school as a PE teacher. He has seriously inspired me to getting back to having a regular life. That its never too late to get back on track if I have wandered off for a long time. That it is possible to do something that I like even in a job. Probably that is what started my hunting in a new career change. :)

Had a school show (15 mins of Fame) on Monday. Its part of the national day celebration for Bendeemer Pri Sch. This show, we only had 3 casts instead of the usual 4. And we actually did the school show really well and smooth! Covering Fared’s lines and getting throught the blocking changes.

Earlier, chatted with Edric about this fortune teller he visited. Guess its time I go to one again. After going to Nimmi (my personal psyshic) twice, maybe a change to the "chinese" fortune telling would be interesting. Probably could give me a sense of direction of where I am heading from now on. Of course, Nimmi will still stay as my psychic master since all the things he mentioned to me had happened.

As I am writing this, the radio is playing Jacky’s "Wen Bie". That song still reminded me of one of my ex-boyfriend Willie. Hee…. its just amazing that even after so long (12 years liao), by simply hearing a song, the memories that is link to that song is still fresh. Just like how the song "Tong Hua" reminds me of Derek~hee :) "Ren Chuo" from Alex Toh reminds me of Eddie, "Ying Huo Cong" (fireflies) reminds me of my Poly-time buddies! Talking about them, I will be meeting some of them next Tues to celebrate birthday! And we agree to meet at TCC-Peranakan. Wonder if things there still feels the same to me since I’ve not been there for so long.

Last Sat, went to Xiayun’s house to practise singing. Training for my singing competition. With Edric’s recommendation, I decided to sing Tao Jing Yin’s [Wo Bian Le]~(I’ve changed) for the competition. My entry round will be held on the 25th Aug at 8pm at the Party World Orchard Branch. They are the organiser and the comptition is named "Be a Star 2005". Haha… I have never taken part in any singing competition since growing up. Really dun know how I will fair. With all this coaching from Xiayun, I believe I am pretty good now. :p  Constantly humming the song or singing it at home to perfect my "tail notes" etc. Wow.. feels good to have a sense of aiming for a goal.

Next thing I really got to do is get back on my regime of exercise. Felt my body feeling "sad" cos it is lack of exercise again. Feel burden. Really need to start either jogging or go back to my regime of cycling everyday. Also been eating more too. Gotta cut down also. Though I did not put back on any weight but I just feel physically bad.

I am also now looking for a job. Wanna get back to having a stable income to support myself and Bryan. And to live a more regular life. After "leaving" the theatre circle for a while, I actually feel that I really should move on in life. And experience something new. Though I still dun know what but I am sure that Great Spirit will show me the way. So after this school term is over, it will be good for me to have a stable job. This will also help me clear off the debts I have accumulated over the years from my wind-down business and freelancing times.

Wow… a long blog today. I really should get back to writing my blog more regular. hehe.. Edric just message me on Yahoo again… signing off now!

Whatz Up!

July 27th, 2005

Starting my 2nd teaching project today at Punggol Pri. Well, a change of environment is good too. Been to Karaoke with Edric 2 days ago. I really enjoyed myself while training for my singing competition! He is such a great singer! I wish I can sing like that. Edirc is really sucha a dear friend… he keeps encouraging me in all aspect of my life! Even Kheeliang feel the same way too. Thank you Edric!

Been thinking of my dear friends…. Its been a long time since Deneon sms me or email me. Wondering if she is doing fine.. guess she is really busy at work thats why I didnt hear much from her. And Siti, I’ll always think of her and wondering what she is doing now and really miss going to gym with her. Probably shes busy with school shows. And James… been trying to meet up with him again but my time is kinda packed or I’m really tired.

Received email form Zamry (now Maya), she is married now and lead a stable and happy life. I am so happy for her cos she had finally find what she wants in her life.  She is even conducting Image Consulting Workshops now! Really happy for her. Been trying to arrange a meet-up too… there are so many people that I wanna meet up… must rearrange my time and see them. Friends are always important in my life.

I have also received news that my Singing Competition date is set on 25th Aug at 8pm at Orchard Party World. Kinda nervous about it cos its the first time I am taking part in competition. However, I will train hard and go for it since its for the experience and I must enjoy evey bit of it. As for teaching wise, been through tough patches teaching things that I have never taught before and making improvements as I go along. Been talking to Kheeliang quite a bit about some business plans which will roll out within this 2 weeks. Its really exciting. And if all goes well, it will sure take me out of my financial blues… hee…. :)

Also, recently I have more realisation about things happening in my life. And came up with some new concepts that somehow helped Kheeliang identify things in his life. Guess my ituitive mind is getting to work again and I am getting more connected spiritually with the inner self. These had definitely helped me in getting closer in praticing as the "Goddess of Love" inner self. Wow… so many things happening and so many people that I really missed and wants to be with….  At least, I am leading a fruitful like.

Tots…

July 19th, 2005

Have been teaching non-stop for 4.5 hours today… tiring. And had been busy no stop through the whole week! However what bothers me most are people around me. Wondering if they are fine and if they are happy… since I am so busy, I may not have time to get in touch with them… hope they wont mind.

Identity Crisis…

July 8th, 2005

Haha… I am suffering from identity crisis… Hee :p

Basically, just looking at myself and seeing that I am not heading anywhere with what I like to do. No stable job, no career, no money, unknown future… Only thing I have is a good boyfriend. Haha… Wonder what my next step is gonna be after my teaching assignments with Harbridge. Seeing Kenneth finding something he really wanted to do and commiting to it really makes me feel that I should seriously start planning my future. Can’t just be a freelancer for the rest of my life without any plans and secure income. I’m really getting worried cos I am not getting younger… Sign. :~{

Anyway, did 2 school shows today. First show was really funny cos everyone trip lines, forgets blockings and we nearer ended the show before even sharing about Zubir Said. Haha… though it was kinda disastrous, we had so much fun and we covered each other very well. Sound wise also have some hiccups. However, students enjoyed it very much. 2nd show was much better and pacing was tighter. We got more of our lines correct and blockings were smoother. Sound wise was also better except for too much ‘gain’ I think which causes some feedback. Overall, I really enjoyed acting in this musical and working with this casts group.

Alright, so much for now, waiting for my next class at 430pm.

More bites! More updates!

July 7th, 2005

Went through the process of exterminating the bedbugs but only killed some. There are still bites! Kheeliang got more of them cos he sleeps nearer to the nests of the bedbugs. Despite nearly pouring the chem onto the nest area and subsequently spraying more detol on them, they still survived! Even tried Edric’s recommendation, it only keeps them away temporary. They are really stubborn! Last resort, throw the mattress away and buy thinner "de-lum" as called by Kheeliang. @_@

Been really busy with my teaching assignments as well as preparating for school shows. Will be acting in the school musical "15 mins of fame" with D’rama Arts. The schools we are performing in this month are Peichun Public Sch, Woodlands Ring Pri Sch and Zhenghua Pri Sch. Total of 6 shows. Hee.. its really fun acting in school shows and having all the laughter with my co-actors. It kinda gets me off the "working" mode, relax and enjoy myself. Tomorrow got 2 shows then rush off to teach. Getting a little jittery cos haven’t really got my lines all down yet.

Talking about relaxing… miss going to TCC for a cuppa… long gone are those days going there to chat and unwind. Now is the time to buck up, tighten the belt and earn $$ while the school term is in function. Wonder how is Allen, Shaz and Adrian… @v@ And really miss their pumpkin salad and house tofu! Arghh… yum yum…. Sign.

Well, back to working side, I am taking up another 2 other teaching assignments thus am packed mon - sat with all round the clock teaching. Pretty tiring. My E-music classes are going on smoothly and I am given all the "power" to modify the lesson stuucture to suit the students needs and my comfortable level of teaching. Seems like I am stuck with South View Pri Sch for a long time. But being there for a long time also makes me feel welcome cos everytime I walk into the school, I’ll hear kids greeting me "Ms Janet, Ms Janet" excitedly! Well, a little comfort from the hard work.

Alright, gonna sign off now cos tomorrow got call-time at 925am in Peichun Pri. Wish all a good nite and a great day ahead!
